815-206-5828 to schedule an appointment at the Algonquin Township
building. Appointments will be held on Wednesdays during morning

Senior
Services Transportation
Many Seniors can stay
safely in their own homes for many years but can no longer drive;
and getting to the doctor or dentist can be a real challenge. The
retirement communities offer more assistance but even there,
residents may need transportation. Our program arranges volunteer
drivers to get to those appointments. If you're over the age of 60
and have no other means of transportation, we can help. Please call
and we can explain our program.
Of course, we need Volunteers who are able and willing to drive.
Volunteers can set their own availability and preferred driving
range, and are reimbursed for gas mileage. Drivers are also covered
by excess liability insurance. We ask that you be at least 18 years
old, carry a valid auto insurance policy, and consent to a
background check. Many retirees have discovered the satisfaction of
volunteering in this way.
Senior Services Associates is supported by the Northern Illinois
Area Agency on Aging, the Mental Health Resource League and McHenry
County as well as private donations.
If you are interested in volunteering or if you are a senior that
could benefit from our service, please call.
